Description

Quantum information theoretic objects like the two point function or mutual information can be used to probe the geometry of spacetime, recovering the metric from measurements of a quantum field theory. Here, we give an overview of how this is done and extend it to quantum fields with a Lorentz covariant ultraviolet cut-off in flat and curved spacetimes, as well as fields under a wavelet transform. Posing the question: Can spectral geometry be used to probe the nature of an ultraviolet cut-off to quantum fields and spacetime?
