Description
Searches for Beyond Standard Model physics in molecular systems have become an increasingly active area of research in recent decades. CP-violating interactions and hyperfine parameters are both sensitive to the behaviour of the electronic wavefunction in the nuclear region. Consequently, precise measurements and accurate calculations of molecular hyperfine structure provide an important benchmark for assessing the reliability of CP-violating interaction calculations.
To date, no experimental measurement of the magnetic hyperfine constant exists for the H 3Δ1 state of ThO – the first electronic excited state. In this talk, I present calculations of the magnetic hyperfine constants of ThO for multiple states using coupled-cluster methods implemented in DIRAC. These results are intended to guide a future nuclear Schiff moment search using ThO at Michigan State University.
