Description
The thermionic emission properties of optically driven nodal ring semimet-
als (NRSMs) are investigated. Under off-resonant laser irradiation, the system can
be transformed into different topological phases, including Weyl semimetals (WSMs)
and semi-Dirac semimetals (SDSMs). The resulting modifications to the electronic
dispersion and density of states strongly influence the thermionic emission charac-
teristics. The calculated current densities exhibit pronounced anisotropy, with the
emission along the x-direction becoming increasingly dominant as the system evolves
from the NRSM phase to the SDSM phase. These results demonstrate that external
optical fields provide an effective mechanism for controlling thermionic transport
through topological phase engineering.
