Description

We investigate the linear and nonlinear photon-mixing response of nodal ring semimetals in the terahertz frequency regime. Using a theoretical framework, we demonstrate that these materials exhibit a remarkably strong third-order nonlinear current, which is significantly enhanced with increasing temperature and remains robust up to room temperature. The nonlinear response reaches a magnitude comparable to the linear current under experimentally accessible electric-field strengths of approximately (10^6\ \mathrm{V,m^{-1}}). These findings highlight the exceptional nonlinear optical properties of nodal ring semimetals and establish them as promising materials for efficient room-temperature terahertz photon-mixing and next-generation nonlinear optoelectronic and photonic devices.
