Description
Expanding our knowledge of the full, non-perturbative structure of the photon-fermion vertex importantly contributes to areas such as: Confinement, hadron phenomenology, and dynamical mass generation. We will be presenting one of very few attempts to solve the non-perturbative interaction directly, using its own Schwinger-Dyson equation within quantum electrodynamics. The majority of previous attempts modelled the 3-point with an ansatz structure, and would solve for the fermion and photon propagators. In comparison, solving the photon-fermion vertex directly is quite complex due to its dependence on itself as well as a higher order 4-point function, namely, the 2-photon-2-fermion vertex. The related Ward identities are utilised and required symmetries are respected in our solutions. We will present our preliminary results which were obtained in a massless limit.
