Description

An accurate accounting of QED radiation in hadron decays is key for high precision measurements at colliders, particularly for particle selection and reconstruction. We present a general framework for the description of QED antenna parton showers in decays of hadrons. Additionally, we incorporate corrections derived from exact tree-level matrix elements for decays involving (pseudo)scalar mesons into spin-0 and spin-1/2 particles and describe a generic procedure to obtain such matrix elements using FeynRules and MadGraph. We provide an explicit implementation of the method within the VINCIA parton-shower and compare the resulting decay spectra to those generated with EVTGEN interfaced to PHOTOS++ and SHERPA's PHOTONS module.
