Scientific Programme

The rapid growth of the Small Satellite and New Space sectors involves a strong demand for efficient environmental testing strategies that enable the reliable use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components. Thanks to the high performance of modern electronics, COTS technologies offer attractive opportunities for small and medium-sized companies entering the space industry, but their qualification for harsh space environments remains a critical challenge. Best-practice examples are essential to reduce risk, especially for small and medium enterprises, which intend to enter the space sector

  • Technical Sessions

The conference comprises two technical sessions.

The first technical session is dedicated to best practice environmental testing.
    This esp. includes:
    • Irradiation tests (SEE, TID, DD, Laser)
    • Mechanical testing (Shock, vibration)
    • Atomic Oxygen tests
    • Electromagnetic compatibility

The second technical session is dedicated to the future developments of small satellites and missions.
    This esp. includes:
    • High aspect ratio satellites (Flat Sats)
    • Future mission concepts (Agile Satellites)
