Description

Abstract

We present the Spin(4) gauge formulation of gravity based on a Cartan Khronon field, in which spacetime geometry is described through a gauge-theoretic framework and the coframe structure emerges from the covariant derivative of the Khronon field. The theory naturally decomposes into self-dual and anti-self-dual sectors associated with the Spin(4) connection, allowing for a chiral description of gravitational dynamics analogous to Ashtekar-type formulations of General Relativity.\

Within this framework, gravitational instantons provide natural non-perturbative configurations due to their intrinsic self-dual structure, which confines the dynamics to a single chiral sector of the Spin(4) decomposition. The poster presents explicit instanton solutions in the Spin(4) Khronon theory and discusses how the resulting geometries reproduce the corresponding classical General Relativity solutions. In particular, the Eguchi–Hanson gravitational instanton is analyzed as an explicit example of a self-dual solution within the Spin(4) formulation. Ongoing work on additional instanton configurations and their role in the non-perturbative sector of the theory will also be discussed.
