Due to the central London location and the proximity of the IOP building to the King's Cross transport Hub in London there are many options available, spanning a range of budgets. Premier Inn, Ibis, or Travelodge chains represent the more budget friendly options, but there are many higher price range options too.
There are options available within walking distance and options which are a short public transport ride away.

Options Via Public Transport
The main London tube lines all stop at King's Cross St Pancras station (next to the IOP venue), so a hotel located anywhere within ZONE 1 of the transport system should be a reasonable distance for conveniently commuting to the workshop. ZONE 1 can be located as the innermost region on the map available at https://content.tfl.gov.uk/standard-tube-map.pdf. King's Cross St Pancras station can be found in square C5 on that map.
There are many chain hotel options within ZONE 1. For example, Premier Inn Tower Hill is a 10 minute tube journey on Circle Line to King's Cross. Close to Tower of London, Tower Bridge, pubs/restaurants, the Thames river and Borough Market via London Bridge).
There are other chain options available, including Ibis London City - Shoreditch (beside Aldgate tube station, and within walking distance of the Tower of London), or other Premier Inns/Hubs around the city (also including Premier Inn Aldgate).
