Accommodation and meals

Participants will be accommodated on site at Christ's College, and breakfast and lunch will be provided Wednesday-Friday. Additionally, one conference dinner for the participants will be held in the College Hall on Thursday evening, where we look forward to seeing you. On the other evenings (Tuesday and Wednesday) we encourage participants to make their own arrangements for dinner - the organisers are happy to recommend restaurants nearby.

If you have any dietary restrictions, please contact the organisers at your earliest convenience.

Getting to Christ's

If you would like to arrange parking during your stay, please contact the organisers as early as possible.

For those arriving by train, from Cambridge railway station you can either take a taxi (approx. 10 min drive), take a bus (routes 1, 3, 7, or PR4), or walk (approx. 30 mins).

Visa

It is important that participants coming from outside the UK must have an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) or a valid (Standard Visitor) visa. Please make sure that you arrange your authorisation in time.

Conference dinner

The conference dinner will be a private event, hence the College does not enforce a dress code.  Despite the lack of a strict dress code, we recommend "smart casual" as the dinner will be in a formal setting.

 

Further information

• For those participants staying in College, their room is available from 2pm on the day of arrival. Check-in is at the Porter's Lodge (main entrance—Great Gate) and breakfast is included and will be served in Upper Hall from 7.30 am.
• Talks and lunches will be in the Yusuf Hamied Centre (lunches outside if weather permits).
• The conference dinner (Thursday, 11 September) will be in the Hall at 7.30pm and will be preceded by a drinks reception in the Fellow's Garden from 7pm.
