Submission Guidelines

Presentation Guidelines for Scientific Abstracts

  • All presentations need to be delivered in person
  • Make sure you complete the registration form as well
  • You can apply for either a 15-minute talk or a poster presentation (or both in which case we first consider you for a talk an then for the poster).
  • All submissions must include:
    • A 200-word scientific abstract
    • A 200-word lay abstract

The Best Image and Scientific Visualisation Competition will open shortly. You will receive a separate email after submitting your abstract.

Flash Talks

Some poster presenters will be selected to give a quick 3-minute flash talk before their poster session. If you're chosen, we'll get in touch as soon as possible with the details!

Poster Printing

As in previous years, we will offer free poster printing on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability.

Lay Abstract Guidelines

Your lay abstract will be reviewed by Moorfields Eye Charity patients, who won't read your scientific abstract. Keep these things in mind:

  • Lay abstracts will be reviewed by Moorfields Eye Charity patients, who won’t read the scientific abstract.
  • Please include a clear, accessible title and avoid jargon or technical terms.
  • It can help to structure your abstract (e.g. background, research question, methods, and expected or known outcomes) for clarity.
