Travel
The Hartree Centre is located at the Daresbury Laboratory, Sci-Tech Daresbury, WA4 4AD.
By rail
The nearest stations are Runcorn, Runcorn East, Warrington Bank Quay, and Warrington Central. Each offers local bus services to the Daresbury Laboratory campus.
By bicycle
The A56 Chester Road to the east of the campus has a shared-use cycleway and footpath adjacent to but separated from the road. There is additionally a cycleway along the Bridgewater Canal to the west of the campus.
There is cycle parking available on campus.
By car
Where it is not practical to use public transport, we would encourage participants to use electric vehicles and to car pool where possible. Where multiple people are travelling by car from the same direction, if you agree when registering, we will be in touch to try and facilitate a car pool.
There is limited visitor parking on site; please let us know at registration if you will require visitor parking. Electric vehicle charging is available in the visitor car park.
Driving directions are available from Sci-Tech Daresbury.
By air
We strongly encourage participants to avoid flying if possible. For participants travelling from Europe, there is a non-stop service from London Euston station—just a short walk from the Eurostar terminal at St Pancras—to Warrington Bank Quay station.
For participants joining us from further afield, the nearest international airports are:
- Liverpool John Lennon: 1.5 hours by public transport
- Manchester: 1.5 hours by public transport
- Birmingham.: 2.5 hours by public transport
