Conference registration

All costs are in Australian Dollars (AUD). At the time of writing, $AUD100 approx. USD65. Two registration options are available to suit different preferences:

Residential Registration (accommodation included) includes on-campus accommodation in a private single room with shared bathroom facilities. A limited number of en-suite rooms are also available. All accommodations are within a few minutes’ walking distance of the conference venue. If you have specific requests relating to accommodation (for example, you have family members accompanying you), please email the organisers to discuss. 

    • En-suite Accommodation for members of AIP or DCMP only: $AUD1100

    • Standard  (Single room in cottage with shared bathroom) Members of AIP or DCMP: $AUD900
    • Standard  (Single room in cottage with shared bathroom) Non-members: $AUD1025
  •  
    • Student/Retiree (Single room in cottage with shared bathroom) Members of AIP or DCMP: $AUD850 
    • Student/Retiree (Single room in cottage with shared bathroom) Non-members: $AUD975 

 

Off-Campus Registration (no accommodation included) is available for delegates who prefer to stay in local hotels. If you select this registration option, you are responsible for organising your own accommodation and transport to the conference venue each day. Some accommodation options  are listed on Booking.com and Visit Wagga Wagga. Further details on transportation options between Wagga Wagga central and the conference venue can be found on the Travel information page.

    • Staying offsite package: $AUD600
    • Thursday night (12th February) accommodation. For those delegates staying offsite, there is the option of booking accommodation at Charles Sturt University (the conference venue) for Thursday 12th February night only (conveniently, the night of the conference dinner at Charles Sturt University). There is a sporting tournament happening in Wagga Wagga which means offsite accommodation in Wagga Wagga is scarce on Thursday night. 
      • Accommodation only Thursday night (single room in cottage with shared bathroom): $AUD100. Book here. 
      • Accommodation Thursday night (single room in cottage with shared bathroom) and breakfast Friday morning: $AUD130. Book here. 

 

All registration types include:

  • Admission to all oral and poster sessions
  • Welcome reception (Monday)
  • Conference dinner (Thursday
  • Social events: afternoon excursion (Thursday), and trivia night (Wednesday). Optional addition: wine tasting night (Tuesday)
  • Lunches from Tuesday to Friday
  • Daily morning and afternoon tea. 

 

Residential registration additionally includes:

  • Dinners from Monday to Thursday
  • Breakfasts from Tuesday to Friday

 

Note: PhD and Masters students need to indicate proof of student status (student ID uploaded)

Discounted member rates are available to:

  • Australian Institute of Physics members
  • AIP Cognate Society members:
    • Australian and New Zealand Optical Society (ANZOS)
    • Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI)
  • Members of the Division of Condensed Matter Physics

 

If you are a member of the DCMP and wish to take advantage of the Member rate, please prove your DCMP status here. Please note it will take a day or two to approve this membership before you can register for the event.  You will need to upload your DCMP membership information on the registration page.

Social program tickets

Social program tickets are also available. These are for accompanying guests who wish only to participate in the social program events of the conference. These include the welcome reception (Monday), Trivia night (Wednesday), the social excursion (Thursday) and the Gala dinner (Thursday).  Optional: If you also wish to attend the Wine Tasting evening on Tuesday 10th February, please select this addition in the registration form.

Note: the social program ticket DOES NOT include any other meals during the conference.

Conference cancellation policy

  • If a registrant is unable to attend for any reason they may substitute, by arrangement in writing with the Local Organising Committee, someone else from the same Institute/Organisation or a co-author of the submitted abstract.
  • If a registrant is unable to attend, and is not able to transfer their place to another person, then the following refund arrangements will be applicable at the discretion of the Local Organising Committee:
    • Registrations cancelled 20 days or more before the event may be refunded the entire registration amount minus a $AUD50 administration fee.
    • Registrations cancelled less than 20 days before the event will not be eligible for a refund.

 

Refund requests must be sent via email to CMM-Wagga@aip.org.au. Each application for refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

 

Registration
