Description

This research delves into the triclinic symmetry and ferroelectric nature of YCrO3, a chromium-based perovskite, using single-crystal neutron diffraction. We uncover a unique structural configuration that accounts for its ferroelectric properties, alongside a G-type antiferromagnetic arrangement. The study provides a comprehensive analysis of the interplay between lattice and spin degrees of freedom, offering valuable insights into the coexistence of magnetic and electric orders. These findings enhance our understanding of YCrO3's potential in multifunctional applications, emphasizing the critical role of precise structural investigations in advancing perovskite research.
