Travelling from London Waterloo Train Station, London Heathrow Airport, London Gatwick Airport, and Southampton Airport to Winchester Guildhall

1. From London Waterloo Train Station: The most convenient way to reach Winchester Guildhall from London Waterloo Train Station is by train.

  • Direct South Western Railway (SWR) trains run regularly from London Waterloo to Winchester. The journey takes approximately 1 hour.
  • Upon arriving at Winchester Train Station, you can either: a) Walk to Winchester Guildhall (approximately 15–20 minutes); b) Take a taxi from outside the station, which takes around 5 minutes; c) Take a bus: Stagecoach buses 5 or 66 run from the Winchester Railway Station (Stop Qb) to Winchester Bus Station; Stagecoach bus WPR run from Winchester Railway Station (Stop Qb) to Broadway St Johns (Stand 8); Stagecoach buses 6, 7 or 67 from Worthy Lane to Winchester Railway Station (Stop Qb).

2. From London Heathrow Airport: To travel from Heathrow Airport to Winchester Guildhall, you have two main options:

  • Take National Express coach 205 (Poole/Bournmouth) from Heathrow T2 & T3, T4 or T5 Bus Station to Winchester Park & Ride East  (about 1 hour 30 minutes). Then take Stagecoach bus WPR to Broadway Guildhall (Stand 4).
  • If you would like to travel by trains, you can take a bus from Heathrow T2, T3 or T5 to Reading bus station by RA1 RailAir (about 1 hour). Then, walk about 2 mins to Reading train station. Take CrossCountry (Bournemouth) at Platform 7 to get to Winchester train station. 

3. From London Gatwick Airport:

  • From Gatwick Airport Railway Station, take a Southern Railway train to Clapham Junction (about 30 minutes).
  • At Clapham Junction, transfer to a SWR train to Winchester (about 1 hour).

4. From London Stansted Airport:

  • Take the Stansted Express train from Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street Station (approximately 50 minutes).
  • From Liverpool Street, take the London Underground (Central Line) to Bank Station, then change to the City Line to London Waterloo Station. 

5. From London Luton Airport: 

  • Take the Greenline 757 (London Victoria) from Old Airport Bus Station to London Brent Cross Centre North Circular Road. Then take London Underground (Northern Line) from Brent Cross to London Waterloo Station.
  • Alternatively, you can take National Express coach 230 (London Gatwick Airport) to Heatherow Airport T5, then take coach 205 to Winchester.

6. From London City Airport:

  • Take Bus 474 to Canning Town Bus Station.
  • Then take London Underground (Jubilee Line) from Canning Town to Waterloo station.

7. From Southampton Airport: Take a SWR train from Southampton Airport Parkway Station to Winchester. The journey takes about 10–15 minutes.
