During summer, Varna is relatively well connected with the rest of Europe. There are several flights per day to the capital Sofia (https://air.bg/) and direct flights to some European airports. The direct flights in June can be found also at https://varna-airport.bg/. Apart from this, flights with transfer to Varna offer Austrian Airlines (via Vienna) and Turkish Airlines (via Istanbul).
The conference venue Hotel Cherno More (https://www.chernomorebg.com/), is in the very city center, next to the sea and the beautiful sea park. There is a great variety of hotels and private accommodations nearby.
Varna is a tourist city. The second half of June is on the border of the high season. That is why we advise you to book your trip well in advance.
Currency: The official currency in Bulgaria is BGN, the Bulgarian lev. 2 Bulgarian lev are 1,02 EUR.

Public transport: You can reach the city center with bus 409. It runs regularly until midnight. Make sure to take the bus in the direction of Varna city center (and not the opposite one), as the bus stops are the same in both directions. You can purchase tickets through an app or this website. The price of the online tickets is 0.5 EUR.
TAXI: Trans Triumph company serves Varna Airport. There is a stand of the company inside the airport and you can conveniently order your taxi from there. You can also use airport transport services such as this one. Please be aware of scam taxis with much higher prices. A normal taxi price for day/night tariff is 1.30/1.50 Bulgarian lev. The transfer services are typically flat rate, around 20 EUR.
Conference dinner: The conference dinner will take place on Wednesday 18th of June, 19:30h, at the restaurant Marché. It is 25min walk from the conference venue through the beautiful sea garden.
