Today's notes:

20 guests.

Mary briefed the group about the nutau 2021 workshop and its connection to the snowmass process.

Peter briefed about white paper. The white paper is for the snowmass/P5 process.

-- how will the document include guidelines on how to make decisions based on scientific interest.

-- where are the experimental details or aspects or ideas to be included ?

1. Contributions submitted to editors: December 10
2. Draft circulated: January 5
3. Comments/additions/corrections due: January 19
4. Draft circulated: January 26
5. Final comments due: January 31
6. Post to arXiv: February 2
7. Contributed whitepaper deadline: March 15

MVD discussed LKr option.

Yichen:  LAr is $5/kg and LKr is $350/kg   if market price.

MVD: probably availability is the bigger problem.

Sebastien:  It the compact shower requirement truly necessary for the DM scattering physics.

MBishai: Lkr is a large nucleus with potentially more complicated vertex for tau events.

Wenjie Wu  discussed work on simulations of tau decays in LAr.

Could we consider a downstream calorimeter to better contain events coming from LAr ?

We will skip October 28,
Then the next meeting will be November 11.  This is US veteran’s day, but we should meet.
I will send a reminder with detailed instructions on time, since the US time shifts on Nov. 7.

We will need to focus on two things:
1)  some more work on tau reconstruction to demonstrate feasibility
2) helping Peter on his community study  tome.

There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
