Description
To meet the required sensitivity of current and forthcoming rare-search event experiments within the astroparticle physics community, it is important to select radiopure shielding materials to protect from background radiation and keep the radioactive background to a minimum. Measurement of surface activities via the XIA Ultra-Lo 1800 detector will be discussed for common components of the shielding of astroparticle experiments, such as copper and Polytetrafluoroethylene.
