The nontrivial topological features in non-Hermitian systems provide promising pathways to achieve robust physical behaviors in classical or quantum open systems. Recent theoretical work discovered that the braid group characterizes the topology of non-Hermitian periodic systems.
In this talk, I will show our experimental demonstrations of the topological braiding of non-Hermitian band...

The enhancement of the light-matter interaction through localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPRs) by the heterostructure of noble metal and copper sulfide nanoparticles has aroused wide concern. The higher-order nonlinear process has also gained considerable interest for its efficient enhancement of the harmonic generation process in harmonically resonant heterostructures. In this work, a...

We report the observation of the frequency nonlinearity during amplitude stabilization of the gain-embedded resonator which was previously interpreted as a van der Pol oscillator. Our investigation reveals that this specific nonlinear oscillationn is more accurately described by the van der Pol-Duffing oscillator model. We initially observed this phenomenon in a gain-embedded circuit...

The SGM (200 - 2000 eV) and SXRMB (1.7 - 10 keV) spectroscopy beamlines at the Canadian Light Source allow for a variety of novel in-situ and operando measurement techniques. This talk will cover the experimental data acquisition modes available at both beamlines and highlight the ways in which their unique capabilities allow for answering specific scientific questions. The emphasis will be on...

Berry curvature manifests as current responses to applied electric fields. When time reversal is broken, a Berry curvature ''monopole'' gives rise to a Hall current that is proportional to the applied field. When time reversal is preserved, a Berry curvature ''dipole'' may result in a Hall current that is second order in the applied field. In this work, we examine a current response arising...
