    Invited Speaker / Conférencier(ère) invité(e)

Explorations of the origin of dark matter lead to rich experimental opportunities to discover the underlying new physics. I will discuss light sterile neutrino dark matter that is produced from the Standard Model plasma in the early universe. Leading production mechanisms include out-of-equilibrium neutrino oscillation supplemented by neutrino self-interactions (freeze in) and relativistic...

The Global Argon Dark Matter Collaboration is working on a series of direct searches for dark matter using liquid-argon targets. We are currently operating DEAP-3600 at SNOLAB and are upgrading it to reach design sensitivity and to prove a background model with a rate of ~1 event/tonne year. We are also building the DarkSide-20k detector, currently under construction at the LNGS laboratory in...

The nEXO neutrinoless double beta decay experiment aims to detect a hypothetical decay mode in the isotope xenon-136.
A positive observation of this decay mode would serve as direct evidence for lepton number violation and confirm the Majorana nature of neutrinos, representing a breakthrough in physics beyond the Standard Model.
Such an observation could also offer new pathways for...
