Since its inception in 2011, the QCD Evolution workshop series has brought together theorists and experimentalists to advance our understanding of the quark and gluon structure of hadrons and nuclei. QCD Evolution 2027 will be held at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), on May 17–21, 2027, with a focus on hadron tomography, QCD dynamics, and the physics opportunities at Jefferson Lab and the future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC).

The workshop will provide a forum for discussing recent developments in parton distribution functions, generalized parton distributions, transverse momentum dependent distributions, fragmentation functions, spin physics, and small-x dynamics. Topics will include QCD evolution, factorization and resummation, as well as advances in lattice QCD, effective field theories, and other perturbative and nonperturbative approaches.

The workshop will also explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping research in QCD and hadron physics. Topics will include machine learning for parton distribution extraction, hadron tomography, event generation, and uncertainty quantification, as well as emerging applications of large language models and AI agents to theoretical calculations, scientific computing, and experimental analysis.

By encouraging close exchange among theory, phenomenology, experiment, and computational approaches, the workshop aims to strengthen the scientific impact of Jefferson Lab, RHIC measurements, and relevant collider programs, while helping shape the physics program of the EIC. The workshop will provide opportunities for early-career researchers to present their work and develop new collaborations.
