Future Challenges in the Era of Population Ageing and Chronic Diseases is the 2026 Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Technical Medical Sciences, University of Medicine, Tirana, taking place on 11–12 December 2026 at The Faculty of Technical Medical Sciences, Tirana, Albania.
The conference brings together academics, researchers, healthcare professionals, early-career researchers, doctoral candidates and students to discuss the emerging challenges associated with population ageing, the increasing burden of chronic diseases, the transformation of healthcare delivery and the rapid development of health technologies.
The scientific programme is organised around eight interdisciplinary areas: Epidemiology and Public Health; Chronic Diseases and Multimorbidity; Nursing and Long-Term Care; Rehabilitation and Quality of Life; Medical Imaging and Diagnostics; Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence; Education and Clinical Simulation; and Policy, Ethics and Health Systems.
Participants may contribute through oral presentations or poster presentations, or attend the scientific sessions and discussions. Oral presentations are scheduled for 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes of discussion, while posters should follow the A0 portrait format.
Abstract submissions open on 28 September 2026 and close on 10 November 2026.
The conference aims to provide an academic and professional forum for the exchange of knowledge, research findings and innovative approaches that can contribute to safer, more effective and more sustainable healthcare in the context of demographic and epidemiological change.
