By air
The nearest major commercial airport is Indianapolis International Airport (IND), approximately 50 miles north of Bloomington. Travel between the airport and Bloomington normally takes about 60 minutes, depending on traffic and the transportation option selected.

At Indianapolis International Airport, the shuttle uses the Ground Transportation Center in Zone 1. The center is on the terminal’s lower level, directly across from baggage claim.
Advance reservations are strongly recommended. When booking, select the Bloomington stop most convenient for your hotel or the conference venue. Allow sufficient time for baggage collection, boarding, traffic, and possible stops for other passengers.

Participants arriving very late or departing very early should verify that a shuttle is available at the required time. A rental car, private car service, or rideshare may be necessary outside scheduled service hours.

For navigation, use the complete address of the conference venue shown on the conference website rather than entering only “Indiana University.” The IU Bloomington campus is large, and different buildings may have different vehicle entrances and parking areas.

Parking
Most IU parking spaces require either payment or a valid permit. Visitors may use designated paid visitor spaces, campus parking garages, or an eligible visitor permit. Do not park in an IU permit-only space unless your permit specifically authorizes it.
Visitor spaces generally use the ParkMobile system. Rates, enforcement hours, event restrictions, and weekend rules vary by location. Special-event restrictions may override normal parking rules.

FlixBus and its partner carriers provide intercity bus connections to Bloomington. Available routes may include direct service from Indianapolis and Chicago, as well as connections through the wider FlixBus/Greyhound network.

FlixBus currently instructs its passengers to wait at the Route 7 Bloomington Transit stop on East Third Street, in front of the Transit Center. Other partner carriers may use a different boarding zone. Always follow the location printed on your ticket, as stops can change.
The Transit Center is in downtown Bloomington. Depending on your hotel and the conference venue, you can continue by local bus, taxi, rideshare, or on foot.

Local transportation
Bloomington Transit, taxis, Uber, and Lyft are available for travel between downtown, hotels, and the IU campus. Many central-campus and downtown destinations are also within walking distance, although travel time depends on the conference venue and accommodations.
IU Campus Bus operates routes around the IU Bloomington campus. Conference participants and other visitors are welcome to ride; no identification, pass, or fare is required. The fleet is wheelchair accessible.
