This study assessed the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into teaching and research activities in Colleges of Education in North-East Nigeria. The study was motivated by the growing importance of ICT in enhancing instructional delivery, research productivity, and the overall quality of teacher education. Specifically, it examined the availability of ICT facilities, the extent of ICT integration in teaching and research, the ICT competence of academic staff, and the challenges affecting effective ICT utilization. A descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population comprised academic staff from the twenty-one Colleges of Education in North-East Nigeria, while five colleges were selected through a multistage sampling technique. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire, and reliability was established using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.70. Descriptive statistics, including mean scores and standard deviations, were used for data analysis. The findings revealed that ICT facilities are generally available in the selected colleges, although advanced technologies such as interactive whiteboards and video conferencing facilities remain inadequate. The study further showed that ICT is integrated into teaching and research activities to a high extent, and that academic staff possess a relatively high level of ICT competence. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, poor internet connectivity, irregular power supply, insufficient funding, limited training opportunities, and inadequate technical support continue to hinder effective ICT integration. The study concluded that while significant progress has been made in ICT integration, addressing existing infrastructural and institutional challenges is essential for enhancing teaching and research effectiveness in Colleges of Education in North-East Nigeria.
