Abstract :The increasing integration of digital technologies into higher education has transformed the manner in which teaching, learning, research, and institutional management are conducted across the world. Smart campus infrastructure and digital connectivity have emerged as critical drivers of educational innovation, institutional efficiency, and knowledge accessibility. This paper examines the role of smart campus infrastructure and digital connectivity in promoting higher education transformation in Nigerian Colleges of Education, with specific reference to the Federal College of Education (FCE) Jama'are. The study adopts a descriptive survey and conceptual analysis approach, drawing on contemporary literature and contextual realities of tertiary education in Nigeria. The paper explores the dimensions of smart campus infrastructure, assesses the significance of digital connectivity in educational delivery, identifies challenges hindering implementation, and proposes strategies for sustainable digital transformation. Findings indicate that smart classrooms, campus-wide internet access, digital learning platforms, electronic administration systems, and ICT-enabled instructional practices significantly enhance educational quality and institutional effectiveness. However, inadequate funding, unstable electricity supply, limited technical expertise, poor internet penetration, and resistance to technological change remain major obstacles. The paper concludes that strategic investment in smart campus infrastructure is essential for repositioning Colleges of Education as centres of innovation and excellence capable of meeting the demands of twenty-first-century education. Keywords: Smart Campus, Digital Connectivity, Educational Transformation, Higher Education, Colleges of Education, FCE Jama'are, Digital Learning.
