Track: Inclusion, Equity and Digital Access
The study determines the effect of digital access, equity, and inclusion on bridging the digital divide and fostering sustainable citizenship competencies among students of higher institutions in South-East Nigeria. This study adopted a mixed methodological approach combining both a structured questionnaire and an interview for data collection. The study employed a multi-stage sampling method to ensure equal opportunity and representation of the respondents and, at the time, achieve validity and generalizability of the findings of the study. The findings of the study indicate that improved digital access, equity, and inclusion contribute to greater participation, fewer learning inequalities, and higher sustainable citizenship competencies among students in higher education institutions. This study provides useful insights and practical recommendations to institution authorities, policymakers, and educators in the formulation of digital policies that eliminate the digital divide and foster sustainable citizenship among graduates in the digital age.
