Track: AI, Emerging Technologies and Future Learning
The increasing integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into higher education administration is reshaping institutional processes and creating new opportunities for enhancing administrative effectiveness. Despite the growing relevance of AI-driven technologies in university management, evidence on their adoption and influence on administrative performance in Nigerian universities remains limited. This study examines the extent to which AI adoption contributes to administrative effectiveness in Nigerian universities and explores its implications for educational management.
Specifically, the study investigates the role of AI in improving decision-making, resource management, operational efficiency, service delivery, and institutional responsiveness. The study is anchored on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and adopts a descriptive survey research design. The target population comprises academic and administrative managers in selected Nigerian universities, while data are proposed to be collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques.
The study is expected to provide empirical evidence on the relationship between AI adoption and administrative effectiveness in higher education institutions. Furthermore, it seeks to identify critical factors influencing the successful implementation of AI technologies within university administrative systems. The findings are anticipated to contribute to policy formulation, institutional planning, and leadership practices aimed at strengthening governance and organizational performance.
The study concludes that the strategic adoption of AI has the potential to transform university administration and enhance institutional effectiveness, thereby positioning Nigerian universities to meet the demands of an increasingly digital and knowledge-driven society.
