Track: AI, Emerging Technologies and Future Learning

The increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI ) and emerging technologies
into contemporary educational systemshasbecome a critical driver of pedagogical
transf ormation and skillsdevelopment in the twenty- first century. However, in
Nigeria, persistent disparitiesin accessto digital inf rastructure, technological
resources, and digital literacy continue to intensif y digital inequalities, particularly
within BusinessStudiesEducation. Thispaper investigateshowAI and emerging
technologiescan be leveraged to addressthese inequalitiesand promote f uture-
ready learning outcomesin BusinessStudiesEducation in Nigeria. The paper adoptsa
conceptual and analytical approach, drawing evidence f rom extant literature,
educational policies, and global best practiceson digital transf ormation in education.
I t examinesthe pedagogical potential of AI - enabled toolssuch asadaptive learning
systems, intelligent tutoring systems, learning analytics, digital simulations, and
virtual collaborative platf ormsin enhancing instructional delivery and learner
engagement in BusinessStudies. The paper identifiesmaj or constraintsto ef f ective
integration, including inadequate I CT inf rastructure, unreliable electricity supply,
limited internet connectivity, insuf ficient f unding, and lowlevelsof teachers’ digital
pedagogical competence. I t f urther highlightsthe implicationsof unequal accessto
digital devicesand learning resourcesf or learnersin rural and urban settings, which
continuesto widen educational disparities. The study arguesthat the strategic
integration of AI and emerging technologieshasthe potential to enhance
entrepreneurial thinking, improve decision- making skills, strengthen problem- solving
abilities, and support inclusive participation in BusinessStudiesclassrooms. I t
concludesthat addressing digital inequalitiesrequiressustained investment in digital
inf rastructure, continuousteacher prof essional development, curriculum innovation,
and robust policy implementation supported by multi- stakeholder collaboration to
ensure equitable accessto AI - driven educational ecosystemsand f uture- ready
learning opportunitiesin Nigeria.
