ABSTRACT
Research is a process of finding out the solution to a problem. The motivating force in all research is the existence of a problem and the urge to take care of or solve it. Without this problem situation, there will be no research. It is the existence of a problem that propels a researcher to invent new ideas which will be a modification to the existing one that leads to innovation which figuratively denotes "Invention and Vocation". Ecosystem is a network of interdependence actors, institutions which use knowledge for innovation and societal value. Research, innovation and collaboration do not take place in a vacuum and cannot be treated in isolation. When the Research, knowledge, innovation and Ecosystem align, they help people to turn occupation into vocation by connecting work to societal impact. This study, therefore, highlights how a strong ecosystem improves research, innovation, and knowledge, which in turn grows an economy that impacts positively on society.
