Track: Digital Transformation in Higher Education
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly revolutionising higher education by altering teaching methodologies, institutional administration, and student involvement in the 21st century. As higher institutions of learning progressively integrate digital technology to improve teaching, learning, and administrative efficiency, AI has become a pivotal catalyst for educational innovation and systemic transformation. This study offers a conceptual examination of AI-driven digital change in higher education, emphasising its effects on pedagogy, institutional governance, and learner engagement. This analysis explores how AI-driven tools, including intelligent tutoring systems, learning analytics, generative AI applications, chatbots, and automated assessment platforms, are transforming conventional educational frameworks and fostering more personalised, adaptable, and data-informed learning environments. The research is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Diffusion of Innovation Theory, which elucidate the processes by which individuals and institutions accept and assimilate innovative technology in educational settings. This study synthesises contemporary research and global policy views to elucidate how AI improves efficiency, increases decision-making, and fosters student-centered learning in higher education institutions. The document delineates principal potential for AI integration, encompassing augmented academic performance, heightened institutional response, and broadened access to quality education. Nonetheless, it underscores some problems like ethical issues pertaining to bias and data privacy, and others alike. The paper introduces an AI-Driven Higher Education Transformation Framework (AIDHETF) to tackle these challenges, conceptualising the interplay of infrastructure, human capability, regulatory environment, and AI-enhanced educational processes. The report concludes that although AI possesses considerable transformative potential for higher education worldwide, its sustainable integration necessitates deliberate investment in infrastructure, capacity development, and strong ethical governance frameworks to guarantee equitable and successful deployment.
