Track: Digital Transformation in Higher Education

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has transformed education, the workplace, and society, creating an urgent need to redefine Computer Education. Traditional approaches focused on basic computer literacy are inadequate for preparing learners to thrive in a digital era driven by artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, robotics, big data, and the Internet of Things. This paper examines how Computer Education can be redesigned to develop digital competencies, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills essential for future-ready graduates. It explores innovative teaching approaches, including artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, project-based learning, blended learning, and open educational resources, to improve learning outcomes. The paper also emphasizes inclusive Computer Education by addressing barriers related to gender, disability, socioeconomic status, geographic location, and the digital divide to ensure equitable access to quality digital learning. Furthermore, it highlights the role of Computer Education in promoting lifelong learning, digital citizenship, ethical technology use, and workforce readiness in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 4 and 9. The paper concludes that innovation, inclusion, supportive policies, and strategic partnerships are essential for building a sustainable Computer Education system that equips learners with the competencies needed to drive economic growth, social inclusion, and sustainable national development.
