Records are critical to the effective and efficient Management of educational institutions. This paper discusses the relevance of digital technology in the task of record management in Colleges of Education in Nigeria. concepts of School records, objectives, significance of school records and other related concepts were synoptically reviewed. The paper further looked at the need to digitalize record management in Colleges of Education in Nigeria. In addition, the paper examined the issues and challenges facing effective digitalization of record management in Colleges of Education in Nigeria. These issues and challenges include: low technical capacity, inadequate availability of ICT facilities and poor perception of digital technology by staff among others. The paper concluded that for effective integration of digital technology in record management in Colleges of Education, these issues and challenges must be curtailed. Thus, to overcome the above issues and challenges, the paper recommended among others that there should be vigorous ICT training for personnel in Colleges of Education, the need to support the colleges with more ICT materials as well as policy direction and sensitization to ensure that staff whole-heartedly embrace the adoption of ICT or digital technology in record Management in Colleges of Education in Nigeria.
