Track: Digital Transformation in Higher Education
The increasing integration of digital technologies into higher education has transformed the operations and service delivery mechanisms of academic libraries. This study investigates digital innovation readiness and sustainable library service delivery in colleges of education in Southwest Nigeria. The study examines the extent to which libraries are prepared to adopt and utilize emerging digital innovations, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, institutional repositories, digital catalogues, and online information services. It further explores the relationship between digital innovation readiness and the sustainability of library services in meeting the information needs of students, lecturers, and researchers. A descriptive survey research design is proposed, targeting librarians and other relevant library personnel in selected colleges of education across Southwest Nigeria. Data will be collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study is expected to reveal the level of digital infrastructure availability, staff competencies, institutional support, and funding mechanisms that influence digital innovation readiness. Findings may also indicate how readiness for digital innovation contributes to efficient, accessible, user-centered, and sustainable library service delivery. The study will provide empirical evidence for policymakers, institutional administrators, and library managers in developing strategies that enhance digital transformation and ensure the long-term sustainability of academic library services in Colleges of Education in Nigeria.
