Track: Digital Pedagogy and Teaching Innovation

This paper examines the concept of academic entrepreneurship in transforming life of Arabic educators in Nigeria. In recent years, the increasing demand for innovation in education has necessitated a shift from traditional teaching roles to more entrepreneurial and income-generating academic engagements. In spite of their intellectual contributions, many Arabic educators in Nigeria continue to face challenges such as unemployment, low income, limited institutional support and inadequate integration into modern entrepreneurial and digital education systems. The paper highlights how academic entrepreneurship through activities such as curriculum innovation, digital content development, translation services, Islamic publishing, private tutoring enterprises and online Arabic education platforms can serve as a viable pathway for empowerment and self-reliance. The paper argues that Arabic educators possess valuable linguistic, cultural and religious knowledge that can be transformed into economic opportunities when effectively harnessed. The paper further looks at the role of Islamic organizations, government agencies and educational institutions in supporting entrepreneurial initiatives among Arabic educators through funding, training and policy reforms. It concludes that academic entrepreneurship not only enhances the livelihoods of Arabic educators but also contributes to national development through job creation, knowledge dissemination, and cultural preservation. The paper recommends the integration of entrepreneurship education into Arabic studies curricula and the strengthening of institutional frameworks that promote innovation and sustainability in Arabic education in Nigeria.
