Track: Digital Pedagogy and Teaching Innovation
Advancing Learner-Centered Pedagogies through Digital Innovation
Abstract
The rise of digital technology has changed the way teaching and learning happen in schools and universities. More educators now agree that students learn better when they are active participants in the learning process rather than passive recipients of information. However, there is still limited understanding of how digital tools can be used in practical, everyday classroom settings to support this kind of teaching. This study seeks to find out how digital innovation can help teachers put students at the center of learning across different educational environments. The study will use a mixed-methods design, combining questionnaires given to students and teachers in selected higher institutions with interviews and classroom observations. Numbers gathered from the surveys will be analyzed using basic statistical tools, while responses from interviews will be grouped into themes to identify patterns and meanings. The study is guided by two key ideas: Vygotsky's view that learners grow through interaction and support, and the Technology Acceptance Model, which explains how people decide to use or avoid new technology. The study expects to find out what helps and what gets in the way when teachers try to use digital tools to make learning more student-focused. These barriers and enablers may include teacher skills, available facilities, how engaged students are, and whether all students have fair access to devices and the internet. The results will offer clear, practical suggestions for teachers, school administrators, and education policymakers. This research will add useful knowledge to ongoing conversations about improving teaching and learning through technology.
Keywords: Digital innovation, learner-centered pedagogy, student engagement, technology integration, technology-enhanced learning.
