Track: Digital Pedagogy and Teaching Innovation

This paper examines the role of artificial intelligence-assisted teaching and learning in enhancing academic achievement and digital competencies among undergraduate chemistry students in Nigeria. As higher education increasingly embraces digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) offers innovative opportunities for personalized instruction, adaptive learning, intelligent tutoring, and real-time feedback. The study explores how AI-driven educational tools can improve students understanding of complex chemistry concepts, foster critical thinking, and strengthen digital literacy skills essential for the twenty-first-century workforce. Furthermore, the paper discusses the opportunities, challenges, and implications of integrating AI technologies into chemistry education within Nigerian higher institutions. The findings highlight the potential of AI-assisted learning to promote student engagement, improve learning outcomes, and contribute to the development of future-ready graduates in an evolving digital educational ecosystem.
