Track: Digital Pedagogy and Teaching Innovation

The rapid growth of digital technologies has significantly transformed educational practices and created new opportunities for innovative teaching and learning. In language education, digital pedagogy has emerged as an effective approach that integrates technology with instructional strategies to enhance learners' engagement, participation and academic achievement. This paper examines the role of digital pedagogy in advancing learner-centred pedagogies through digital innovation in language education. It discusses the concept of digital pedagogy and highlights how digital tools and platforms support interactive, collaborative and personalized learning experiences. The paper explores various digital technologies, including learning management systems, mobile learning applications, artificial intelligence, virtual learning environments and multimedia resources that facilitate effective language teaching and learning. The study further examines the benefits of digital innovation in language education, such as increased learner autonomy, improved communication skills, enhanced collaboration, access to authentic language materials and greater flexibility in learning. In addition, digital technologies promote active learning, critical thinking, creativity and self-directed learning, which are essential components of learner-centred pedagogy. Despite these advantages, challenges such as inadequate technological infrastructure, digital inequality, limited access to digital devices and insufficient teacher preparedness continue to hinder effective implementation. The paper concludes that digital innovation has the potential to transform language education by creating engaging and inclusive learning environments that support the diverse needs of learners. It recommends sustained investment in digital infrastructure, continuous professional development for educators and the development of supportive educational policies to ensure the effective integration of digital pedagogy into language education.
