The integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the teaching and learning of English is expected to bring some changes in the methods used in teaching the language in Nigeria. Recently, the integration of ICTs in teaching and learning of English has been embraced by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) through STEP and TRIDE which are British council educational training initiatives. This study has made an attempt to explore the opportunities and challenges of using ICTs in English language teaching in colleges of education in Nigeria. The English language teachers and students from three different colleges were the informants in this study, and interview and focus group discussion were used as the research methods. The study concluded that ICTs provide the participants the opportunity of accessing learning resources, preparing and presenting their lessons, and conducting online collaborative learning activities such as WhatsApp webinar and online group discussions. However, it was discovered that some of the informants were facing some challenges with the utilization of ICTs in teaching and learning of English. some of these challenges include access to ICT tools such as smart phones and laptop computers, inadequate funds to subscribe for data and lack of skills needed to use ICTs. The research concluded that the government and all stakeholders in the education sector need to minimize these constraints to improve the integration of ICTs in English Language Teaching (ELT) in colleges of education in Nigeria.
