Track: Digital Pedagogy and Teaching Innovation
Traditional English Language teaching (ELT) method, often grounded in rote memorization and form-focus drills, have long beencriticised for failing to develop the communicative competence learners require for authentic interaction. Creative pedagogy encompassing drama, story-telling, project-based learning, and collaborative tasks offers an engaging alternative, yet its full potentials remains untapped without systematic technological support. This paper argues for a paradigm shift that could portentially replace conventional ELT with an AI enhanced creative teaching framework designed to foster communicative competence in language acquisition among English as a Second language (ESL) learners. Artificial Intelligence tools, including conversational chatbots, speech recognition, adaptive learning platforms, and generative language novels can create immersive interative environments that provide personalized feedback and scaffolding for creative expression. By amplifying activities such a dinamic role plays wit virtual agents, real time pronounciation correction during story telling, and intelligent prompts for collaborative writing,. AI helps target all dimentions of communicative competence.
