Track: Digital Pedagogy and Teaching Innovation
This study examined the effect of digital technology devices (DTDs) on the academic achievement of Business Education students enrolled in Accounting courses at Colleges of Education in Northern Nigeria. A descriptive survey and a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design were employed to integrate DTDs into the teaching and learning process. The findings reveal that DTDs enhance student engagement and motivation, leading to increased active participation, improved retention of accounting concepts, and higher academic performance. The timely feedback enabled by DTDs also contributed positively to student outcomes. However, challenges such as power outages and device limitations were identified. These results highlight the need to promote DTD integration in educational settings while advocating for policies and resources to address implementation barriers. This study provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers.
