This workshop is aimed at early-career researchers working on quantum gravity. Young researchers are actively contributing to a wide range of approaches in the field, and ROSE — Relational Observables and Spacetime Emergence. By fostering collaboration across different communities, the workshop aims to support progress on shared conceptual and technical questions.
Within this broad landscape, an especially fruitful common perspective is the operational one: what is measurable when no fixed spacetime is available? What does “scale” mean when geometry is emergent? And how can these questions be addressed in lower-dimensional models of quantum gravity?
Key senior speakers will provide a common basis for each scientific theme. In addition to them, a central aim of ROSE is to bring together a strong cohort of early-career researchers working at the interface of relational observables and spacetime emergence.

This is an initiative by the Young Researchers team of the International Society for Quantum Gravity. It was preceded by the Basics of Quantum Gravity online school.
