Travel Information

The venue (Laboratorio Subterraneo de Canfranc) is located in Canfranc-Estacion. There are basically three travel options to get to Canfranc-Estacion:

  • Travel by plane directly to Zaragoza airport (code: ZAZ), then reach Canfranc-Estacion by road (1 h 55 m).
  • Travel by plane to Barcelona or Madrid airports (codes: BCN and MAD respectively), then take high-speed train to Zaragoza (1 h 30 m in both cases), and then reach Canfranc-Estacion by road (1 h 55 m). Information to commute between airport and high-speed train station in both cities is given below.
  • Travel by plane or high-speed train to Pau (on the French side), then reach Canfranc-Estacion by road (1 h 45 m).

Commuting between airport and high-speed train station in Barcelona and Madrid

In both cities, public transportation allow to easily commute between airport and high-speed train station:

  • Barcelona: take short-distance train (Rodalies) at terminal T2, line R2 Nord (R2N), to reach "Sants" station. Departs every 30 m, and the trip is 25 m long. Note that you can only take this train from terminal T2, although there are free buses connecting all terminals. Alternatively, you can take metro L11 at any terminal to reach "Collblanc" station, and then take metro L5 to reach "Sants Estacio" station. In total, this trip is 40 m long.
  • Madrid: take metro L8 at any terminal to "Nuevos Ministerios" station (end of the line), then take any short-distance train (Cercanias) southwards (platforms 1, 2 or 8), to "Atocha" station. In total, this trip is 40 m long.
