Description
The Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) and the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) are being constructed in two phases. The first phase encompasses a 1.2 MW neutrino beam, two >10 kton liquid argon time projection chamber (LArTPC) far detector modules, and a near detector suite. Phase II will increase beam power to more than 2 MW, add two additional far detector modules, and provide an improved near detector. A worldwide R&D and prototyping program is underway to study technologies for the Phase II near and far detectors. This talk presents an overview of these options and R&D efforts, including an upcoming ProtoDUNE-III run at CERN.
