Description
Over the past several years, a collection of techniques have enabled the efficient computation of new soft and beam functions at NNLO. In this talk, I show how we have used some of those techniques to compute new soft functions at NNLO, firstly for generalised event shapes at $e^+e^-$ colliders, and secondly for the measurement of boson transverse momentum along with a rapidity-dependent jet veto at hadron colliders. Our focus is to make the calculation as simple as possible, and to make full use of existing results, in order to pave the way for higher-order calculations, and more differential observables.
