Description
Rare decays of B mesons provide a powerful window into physics beyond the Standard Model, offering complementary sensitivity to direct searches at high-energy colliders. With major contributions from the B factories (BaBar and Belle) and the ongoing high-precision program at LHCb, complemented by the rapidly accumulating data from Belle II, these processes have delivered some of the most intriguing hints of potential new physics in recent years. In this talk, I review the key theoretical challenges in calculating rare semileptonic and dileptonic B decays
