The Brazilian School of Cosmology and Gravitation (BSCG) is a traditional international school for graduate students, postdocs and researchers in the fields of Gravitation, Cosmology, and related areas, featuring foundational courses, as well as advanced seminars. It has been held in Brazil since 1978, and it has since played a fundamental role in the formation and development of research groups in Cosmology, Gravitation and Astrophysics in Brazil, as well as many international scientific collaborations. Some of the past speakers of the school were Evgeny Lifshitz, Bryce DeWitt, Yvone de Choquet-Bruhat, Rocky Kolb, Claudio Teitelboim, George Ellis, John Ellis, David Schram, George Smoot, Werner Israel, Larry Ford, Robert Brandenberger, Slava Mukhanov, Jorge Pullin, Luca Amendola, William Unruh, Alexei Starobinsky, François Bouchet, among many others.
This edition will continue to contemplate aspects of the quantum and early Universe, while also discussing new cosmological probes and observational findings. Carlo Rovelli, Guilherme Pimentel, Elisabeth Krause and Mairi Sakellariadou will be giving four lectures each on: Quantum Gravity; Cosmological Bootstrap; Observational Cosmology and the LSST survey; and Gravitational Waves Cosmology, respectively. We will also have seminars from Pablo Fosalba (Euclid), Yi-Fu Cai (Chinese new cosmological facilities), Cliff Burgess (Effective Field Theories and Cosmology), Farinaldo Queiroz (Dark Matter searches), Jailson Alcaniz (Tests of Cosmic Homogeneity) and Karín Menendez-Delmestre (The Astrophysics of Nearby Galaxies). Additionally, Nabila Aghanim (Next generation of CMB surveys), Eleonora di Valentino (Cosmic Tensions and the DESI results), Jane Rigby (James Webb Space Telescope) and Thibault Damour (The History of the Two-Body problem) are yet to be confirmed.
Flash Talks / Posters
- In this edition participants will be invited to submit their posters to be displayed at the coffee break area, when discussion regarding the posters will also take place. We also invite the participants interested in submitting posters to present a one-slide Flash Talk for 2-3 minutes at the corresponding time slot available in the program schedule. Further information regarding submissions will be soon available.
