Lluís Bel award

The Lluís Bel Award is granted by the Spanish Society for Gravitation and Relativity (SEGRE) to the best presentation delivered during the Spanish and Portuguese Relativity Meetings (EREP) by junior members of SEGRE who have not yet completed their doctoral thesis, or who have completed it in the period since the previous EREP edition.

In awarding the prize, both the scientific quality of the results and the clarity and interest of the presentation will be taken into account.

Applicants wishing to be considered for the award must indicate this when registering for the EREP. Those who are not yet SEGRE members may apply for membership during the conference registration process.

The prize consists of a monetary award of €300 — funded through a donation made for this purpose by Alan Barnes and with additional support from SEGRE — as well as a certificate.

The winning presentation will be selected by a committee appointed annually for this purpose by the SEGRE Board. In forming this committee, particular care will be taken to ensure a reasonable balance in terms of geographical representation, gender, and the different scientific fields represented within SEGRE. The award may be withheld if the committee deems it appropriate.

The prize will be awarded before the conclusion of the conference.
