Description

A radiation detection system combining a single-sided Si strip detector
and a HPGe-COMPEX detector module together with its anti-Compton shield was set up at Lund University for environmental sample measurements. This system enables high sensitivity alpha-beta-gamma-coincidence analysis, enhancing the identification level of radionuclides in environmental samples. A comprehensive multi-coincidence data acquisition system was implemented for optimal signal readout. It was demonstrated using a real environmental filter sample containing traces of radionuclides from the Th-232 natural decay chain. A set of calibrated IAEA samples with different sources has been identified using a single-blind study.
