Accommodations

We do not work with any organizations to arrange your stay. You should make your own travel arrangements. Unfortunately, there are no hotels in the neighborhoods closest to Carleton campus. The recommendations we give below are all in or around downtown. Ottawa downtown is very safe and coming from downtown to campus is straightforward.

On-campus option
We have blocked a number of rooms at Carleton University dorms. The rate is CAD$140/night for a 2-room suite with a shared bathroom between the two rooms. (You need to arrange for a suite-mate yourself if you want share the costs.) The information for how to book will be shared with the conference participants via email. Contact Seyda (sipek@physics.carleton.ca) if you have any questions.

The Business Inn
We use this hotel for our out-of-town visitors. The location is close to downtown, on Elgin Street in a lively neighborhood. Rates are the most affordable in Ottawa (starting from $165/night.) We recommend making your reservation as soon as possible as summer months can get very busy.

The Westin
You will be basically in downtown, right by the Rideau Canal. Rates are variable by season but seem to be about $300/night in July. You can take bus route 7 or 10 to come to campus.

Courtyard by Marriott Ottawa
In the ByWard Market district. Rates seem to be a bit better than The Westin. You can take bus route 7 to come to campus.

Alt Hotel Ottawa Downtown
Again in downtown, close to Parliament Hill. Rates are around $200-250/night. You can take bus route 7 to campus.
