Description
Binary stellar evolution is an intrinsic part of our universe, and it is increasingly clear that we ignore it to our peril. One aspect of stellar astrophysics that remains heavily reliant on single stellar evolution models is that of galactic chemical evolution, where our understanding continues to rely almost exclusively on stellar yields computed from models of single stars, especially for low mass stellar evolution. In this talk, I will present a brief overview of the current state of the art of binary stellar nucleosynthesis, highlighting the work that I am about to undertake at Konkoly Observatory.
